Some Exceptions

Some studies show that, at a concentration of 0.13 percent, an alcohol-free hand sanitiser containing benzalkonium chloride as the active ingredient is just as effective and even more at getting rid of bacteria than alcohol. But according to the Hazardous Substances Database, benzalkonium chloride may be harmful to some individuals, especially at higher concentrations.
